So massively extremely busy day planned for today. In about 30 minutes, I'll be picked up by my sister to hang with her and her boyfriend for a large portion of the day. There are plans of seeing fishie at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, then possibly hanging out later at her boyfriend's house. Am super excited to see them!! The only stressful part, which I should be able to manage, is the homework that's due tomorrow. Wish me best of luck! Hopefully I can post some sweet aquatic-life sketches for you all. If not, then possibly next time 'round. :)
Enjoy this picture I did last week (week 7) in my Heads and Hands 1 with Zimou Tan. The model is Bob. Spent... 2 hours? Used graphite pencil on Z's special sketch paper from China. We had to do cross-hatching: a style which I will need lots of practice on.

ILL 140: Intro to Figure Painting with Henry Yan

Week 7 and 8
Oil Paints on 12"x16" cardboard canvas
Finally finished this painting. Have to say it was a lot of fun, and kinda wish we had more time. Not sure how well the skull in the background is reading, but it was cool to paint (attempted a semi-lost and found, but not sure how great that came out).

Fun with Ink
Continuing to discover that I absolutely love inking. I wouldn't have expected it, but I love it. Here's just a taste of what I've done thus far. The butterfly and owl picture were originally photos, and belong to their respected owners. The second picture was completely designed by me inspired by monsters frightened of little kids coming from the closet and all the spooky dark places.

Figure Painting

Midway into the 4th Semester
My gosh, I've been busy. Alright. So to lay it all out for you guys, I've been holding up through my classes (thankfully) while tackling on multiple projects including:
- running the ideation concept art club as president
- finishing up a long-term commission
- starting up three new projects as concept art lead
- applied to become a resident assistant (and awaiting response)
- developing my portfolio, which can now be viewed on the right
- and lastly, but possibly most important - homework
Sadly, I was instructed by all my clients to NOT post any artwork until the projects are completed. This means although I've done lots of work, most of you will be stuck with my regular ol' school studies work. Hopefully I won't disappoint you. Meanwhile, please enjoy this still life study homework.
